Eat by Alex started in 2018 with the mission to set a new standard for a healthy, vibrant and holistic approach to life.

Their personalized nutrition programs, designed by LA-trained chef Alexandra Marmaziu, are rooted in eating whole foods, and cater to specific health benefits such as weight management, gut health or stress relief.

In its first years of operation, Eat by Alex cultivated an avid fanbase in the Zurich area. As consumer demand rose, they understood that they needed to make some changes to continue expansion. They had to address the complex and fragmented logistics process, which involved managing various meal components during their next-day delivery schedule.

To satisfy growing demand across Switzerland, a key priority was to increase production while preserving the high standards of meal quality, flavor, nutritional value and appearance. It was an imperative to develop a frozen solution that would enable country-wide delivery without compromising brand’s dedication to nutritious and diverse plant-based offerings.

Setting New Standards in Holistic Nutrition at Scale

When Eat by Alex partnered with Agilery, they gained access to a comprehensive support of the entire team. Our collaboration focused on the objective of helping them scale up their operations effectively.

One of the first crucial steps in scaling up was finding the right manufacturer. We carefully evaluated different preservation technologies with the client to find the best fit and determined that a freezing process would provide the needed shelf stability while maintaining the quality, color and taste.

We found a co-manufacturer specializing in frozen food, equipped with specialized technology that achieved exactly that. Their recipes were perfected to adapt to the new freezing technology, ensuring that the final products met the brand’s high standards, preserving the quality, nutrients and flavor that customers loved.

Using our network, we secured contracts with key partners for packaging, fulfillment, and logistics. Optimizing the supply chain was important to improving efficiency and enabling product line expansion. The entire process took 6 months.
